Rangers open training camp with great buzz and qualifying round TV schedule
The Rangers conducted their first official team practice and it was a sight for sore eyes. All players participated in a variety of drills and then answered some questions via Zoom conference.
Rangers training camp practice news and notes
As expected, David Quinn showed lines at practice that were identical to what he had late in the regular season. Brendan Lemieux worked as an extra forward, and we learned today that the Rangers have yet to receive work from the NHL about his suspension.
John Davidson did indicate that newly promoted assistant coach, Gord Murphy would take Lindy Ruff’s spot on the bench. That leaves Greg Brown in his role as the “eye in the sky” assistant.
Rangers are in it to win it
Make no mistake about it, the Rangers and in particular head coach, David Quinn are not just happy to be here. “We are picking up where we left off, and I want to be crystal clear about that,” the fiery coach said. “We’re trying to win a Stanley Cup.”
