Rangers face Red Wings as Lundqvist Sets Sights on 300
The New York Rangers will host the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday at 12:30PM at MSG.  New York Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist goes for career win #300.  Lundqvist is just two away from tying Mike Richter for the all-time wins by a Rangers goaltender.
This is the third meeting of the season between the two teams with the Rangers taking the first two, each game by one goal. The Rangers and Red Wings come into Sunday’s showdown having won their previous games. The Rangers are coming off a come-from-behind win at the expense of the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday night, and the Red Wings lit up the scoreboard against the Devils Friday night in Detroit.
The Rangers are in an all out dog fight to remain in one of the top three spots in the Metropolitan division. The Rangers received no help on the out-of-town scoreboard Saturday night aside from the Flyers getting the overtime loss in Toronto. The Devils beat the Canes, Columbus shut out the Preds 1-0, the Caps erased a two goal deficit on the Coyotes and won 3-2. The Rangers currently sit in third place in the Metropolitan, one point behind the Flyers for second. The Rangers are not sitting comfortable as the Blue Jackets are 1 point from the Rangers, and the Caps are two points from the Rangers. With the standings being as tight as they are, there is no room for error. Rangers need to bring it against a Detroit offense that is revitalized with a healthy Johan Franzen.
FullTilt Forecast: Depth is the difference in this one. Rangers win 4-2
