Rangers Roundup: Jacob Trouba ready for playoffs, Buchnevich status unknown, and more news
The Rangers will take to the ice again today at 11AM. Everyone will be focused on the status of Pavel Buchnevich. That is because he left the ice early yesterday and didn’t return.
When asked what happened David Quinn cited the new NHL policy that he was not allowed to comment. Should Buchnevich join the team for practice today, the issue was obviously minor. If not, you can ramp up the speculation because the NHL’s new rules won’t even allow Quinn to say if it is an upper or lower body injury.
Jacob Trouba ready for Rangers playoffs
Jacob Trouba signed a huge deal to be their number one defensemen after the Rangers traded for him this past offseason. The rugged shutdown rearguard had a solid season with flashes of just how good he can be. That was mixed in with some struggles as both he and the team were working out the kinks.
“There was a lot of adjustments,” Trouba began. “Going forward I’ll be in a much better spot.” Those adjustments were due to the new experience of being traded. He also admitted his personality makes him take longer to adjust with coaches and teammates.
David Quinn also had some glowing words for his top d-man. “I believe his best hockey is ahead of him,” Quinn said. “I like what I see from him in camp. He’s going to be a pivotal piece of the puzzle against Carolina.”
