Rangers vs Hurricanes; Playing for Home Ice

The New York Rangers take on the Carolina Hurricanes Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden as the Rangers will play their second to last game in New York City. With the Rangers locking up a playoff spot last night with the help of the Calgary Flames shutting out the New Jersey Devils, they will focus on obtaining home ice advantage in the first round despite their mediocre home record.

Playoffs! PLAYOFFS?!

It’s unclear who the Rangers will play as Philadelphia and Columbus can both obtain that number three seed. Heck, even the Rangers can fall down to the third spot. It would be crucial for the Rangers to obtain home ice first as they have had a great road record (25-14-1). They would have a big advantage winning the first two at home and playing on the road and maybe getting one in game three or four; of course this is all just wishful thinking right now.

Jesper Fast recalled

Swede Jesper Fast was recalled from Hartford and was practicing with Carl Hagelin and Brad Richards according to Pat Leonard. With all that speed you have to feel bad for the defensemen playing against the two Swede’s chasing for the puck. The Rangers hope Fast can accommodate the loss of Chris Kreider as he has been a big loss to the team with his hard work each game. He is likely going to miss the first round of the playoffs after undergoing hand surgery so don’t expect him back for a little while longer.

Fulltilt Forecast: NY gets back on track in a big way 6-2!
