Rangers won’t let up in quest for greatness; face NJ at MSG (NJD v NYR 7PM)
The Blueshirts are back in action tonight against rival New Jersey with a chance to claim the top spot in the NHL. Anaheim lost last night to the Avalanche and sits idle with 107 points. If the Rangers can win tonight, they will take the lead in the standings thanks to ROW’s (regulation and overtime wins).
GAME 78: New Jersey Devils v. New York Rangers, Madison Square Garden, NY 7PM
[sam_ad id=”7″ codes=”true”]
NY currently holds at least 1 game in hand on everyone vying for the President’s Trophy and 3 games in hand on the Ducks entering tonight. Meanwhile, some Rangers may be downplaying the significance of clinching the division, each and every Blueshirt knows it will be a major accomplishment. To win the title as best team in the league after last season’s Cup run that fell short would be a major statement.

NOTES
My math was correct (shocker). Rangers’ Magic Number to clinch East is 5. (Yes, that’s points). They can go 2-2-1. Or worse, pending Habs.

Staal on clinching Metro: “It’s an accomplishment. It’s not easy to win hockey games and it’s a talented division. We should be proud.”
