Road Warriors Off To Colorado
The Rangers take their league leading 25 road wins into Colorado tonight. Both teams will be without stars in Matt Duchene and Ryan McDonagh, but it will still be a barn burner. The Road Warriors can position themselves to clinch a playoff spot by Friday. With a win tonight and Caps loss in regulation tomorrow, NY would clinch a berth in the big show. Matter of fact, any combo leading up to 3 points will get it done.
So what should we be looking out for? This one is easy, Marty St. Louis. Number 26, got the monkey off his back in Edmonton with a beauty rip shorthanded. Is this the sign the floodgates will finally open for the little big man? We feel that to be a yes. Keep your eye on him and Rick Nash. These are the two vital cogs on offense for any deep playoff run.
On defense, John Moore should be making his return to the lineup with Ryan McDonagh out. Yes, the Rangers take a hit on the blue line, but it is equally matched to Colorado’s loss of Duchene up front.
The Avs are sitting pretty in the number 2 spot in the Central Division. That does not mean they will just lay down to NY, it just means the Rangers may be a bit hungrier. Colorado is a potent team on offense, but are prone to counter-attacks. It will be up to the Rangers to make the quick transitions and land two more huge points.
Fulltilt Forecast: NYR 4 – COL 3 in a shootout.
