Ryan Strome is back in NY preparing for Phase 3 with Rangers
Ryan Strome, the Rangers second line center is back in NY. The 26 year-old pivot arrived yesterday and is going through the proper Phase 2 protocols before hitting the ice.
Ryan Strome stats
Strome has really come into his own this season as Artemi Panarin’s center. In 59 games, he has 18 goals and 59 points. Since coming over from the Edmonton Oilers in a swap that saw Ryan Spooner sent the other way, he has 36 goals and 92 points in 133 contests with the Blueshirts.
Once these playoffs conclude, Strome will become a restricted free agent (RFA). The Rangers who are thin at center will look to first sign him to a long term deal, but may be forced to doing a one or two year contract due to the cap ceiling staying flat at $81.5 million.
Another RFA, Tony DeAngelo has yet to arrive at the MSG Training Center but is expected this week. He and Strome are the Rangers top priority to sign this offseason.
