Alexis Lafreniere already committing to play in the NHL, will skip Oceanic’s camp
More good news surrounding the #1 prospect in the 2020 NHL entry draft. Alexis Lafreniere is working out and getting ready for the new NHL season expected to start in December.
Alexis Lafreniere news has him getting ready for the NHL
“Alexis loved his time in Rimouski,” Lafreniere’s agent, Emilie Castonguay told NHL.com. “We just felt it was better for him given the current state of the pandemic and of hockey around the world to continue his preparation at home,” she continued. “He has a great support system [at home] on and off the ice to get ready for his first NHL camp.”
This news is somewhat expected as many feel Lafreniere is NHL ready and will be immediately inserted into the lineup of whoever drafts him. Of course, we know who won the lottery on Monday and the New York Rangers will certainly like him in camp, if they select him. (WINK WINK)
Alexis Lafreniere will be a Star
Alexis Lafreniere was born on October 11, 2001 in the town of Saint-Eustache, Canada. At an early age, he seemed to excel and looked destined to be a top draft pick in the NHL. The kid has all the makings to be an elite player in the league and has been under the microscope for years.
In the latest Forever Blueshirts podcast, The Draft Analyst, Steve Kournianos spoke glowingly of Lafreniere’s game. For him, the one thing that separates him from other #1 picks overall is his competitiveness. He recalled watching him play and noted how on every shift he “exploded over the boards.”
John Davidson and Jeff Gorton on winning the lottery
John Davidson recently spoke about watching the draft lottery, or shall we say, not watching. He really loves the Rangers dating back to his playing days and you can see it in his face in the interview below.
The big takeaway for me was that the Rangers prepping to talk with Lafreniere and his agent. Enjoy the video provided by the Rangers.
