Alexis Lafreniere Day officially set for October 6 and other NHL key dates

The first round of the NHL Draft will be held on Tuesday, October 6th with the rest of the rounds to be held on the 7th. These dates have just been set and you can bookmark it on your calendar as Alexis Lafreniere Day.

The Rangers truly won the “lottery” when their ball game up for first overall. That lucky ball gave the Blueshirts the right to draft a potential generational talent in Alexis Lafreniere.

Lafreniere is currently working out and getting ready for the new NHL season expected to start in December. “Alexis loved his time in Rimouski,” Lafreniere’s agent, Emilie Castonguay told NHL.com. “We just felt it was better for him given the current state of the pandemic and of hockey around the world to continue his preparation at home,” she continued. “He has a great support system [at home] on and off the ice to get ready for his first NHL camp.”

So while the Rangers wait to pick him, he’s getting ready to prove why he is the clear #1 choice.

NHL Free Agent Frenzy is set for October 9th
