A report out of Montreal is surfacing this afternoon that the NY Rangers will officially announce 19 year old forward, Anthony Duclair has made the team.

If you didn’t know, Montreal is the mecca for hockey rumors but this is at least a legit source.
Of course, the writing was on the wall all preseason that Duclair had the goods to make the big club. AV went as far as to say, “I think if we want him to stay, we’re going to find a way to make it happen.”
Make it happen it seems the Rangers did. Today they waived oft-injured center Matthew Lombardi, defensemen, Michael Kostka, Steven Kuempfer and goalie Cedrick Desjardins. Tomorrow it is expected the Blueshirts will announce the move of Derek Stepan to longterm injury reserve as well.
The opening night roster will be clear tomorrow.
Last year the Rangers made it all the way to the final on the back of a King. Now with a “Duke” on board, can they capture hockey’s holy grail? We can dream.
