New York Rangers Daily: Blueshirts moving on up, Connor McDavid faces NHL suspension

Guess which team is just three points out of the second wild card in the Eastern Conference and jumped two spots up into 12th in the conference? That’s right, the New York Rangers.
With several East rivals losing Saturday, the Rangers did their part by defeating the Columbus Blue Jackets 1-0 in a shootout at Madison Square Garden. So, the Rangers picked up a point on the Blue Jackets, who own the top wild card in the East.
The Rangers have a season-long seven-game point streak (5-0-2), besting their 5-0-1 break from the starting gate this season. It’s conceivable the Rangers could wake up Monday morning just one point out of a playoff spot.
For that to happen, they need to defeat the Montreal Canadiens at Bell Centre and the Ottawa Senators must lose in regulation to the New Jersey Devils on Sunday.
But you get the point, in a mediocre conference, the Rangers were not buried by their 4-15-0 stretch and now have resuscitated their season and playoff hopes.
