Here comes Kovalchuk? Russian sniper coming to the States to start negotiations

Ilya Kovalchuk is coming to the U.S. to begin talking with NHL teams on a return to the NHL. One team he certainly will be speaking to…the New York Rangers.

Kovalchuk told Russian outlet, Sports.Ru, “The press decided the Rangers.There was no talk, I have not talked with anyone yet.” The 35 year old is looking to return to the NHL under the right circumstances after becoming an unrestricted free agent 2 weeks ago.

“I’ll fly to America on Sunday and talk”, he left off with the press. It is expected that Ilya Kovalchuk will land in the NY area and commence discussions with several NHL teams, including the Rangers.
