IIHF suspends Rangers prospect Braden Schneider for one game
The IIHF has ruled that Braden Schneider has been suspended for one game. He violated Rule 124 for Checking to the Head and Neck Area he will miss the next contest against Slovakia tomorrow.
Based on all facts ascertained, the Disciplinary Panel determined that – while Schneider’s elbow was down and while there was a size difference between the two players – because Schneider slightly elevated his shoulder into Schumacher’s head resulting in the player’s head snapping back, Schneider actions were extremely dangerous, created a serious risk of injury to Schumacher and violated IIHF Official Rule 124 (Checking to the Head and Neck Area). Schneider could have easily avoided the check.

Braden Schneider suspension
The hit occurred 8:40 into the first period when Schneider lined up Jan-Luca Schumacher for a body check. The timing was right, but his shoulder was high and made contact to the head of the prone forward. Fortunately, Schumacher was able to leave the ice on his own accord.
