New York Rangers NCAA prospect report: 5-point week for Gabe Perreault
Eight New York Rangers prospects skated in NCAA action this past week for their respective collegiate teams. But 2023 first-round pick Gabe Perreault once again continued to lead the way with a total of five points in three games.
The sophomore forward from Boston College scored one goal and had two assists with five shots on goal in a 3-2 win over Providence on Tuesday to start the week in a big way.
Perreault opened the scoring on a breakaway and slid the puck on the backhand through the goalie’s five-hole.
Perreault added another two assists in a 3-0 win against Northeastern on Friday with one shot on goal and a plus-2 rating. Early in the game, on a 2-on-1 with linemate Ryan Leonard, Perreault faked a shot before sliding the puck over to the talented forward, who buried a shot into the open net.
During a shocking 4-2 loss Saturday, Perreault had two shots on goal and one blocked shot. He won 3-of-5 faceoffs with a minus-3 rating.
Perreault leads Boston College with 18 points (six goals, 12 assists) in 12 games.
His BC teammate Drew Fortescue was credited with one shot on goal and one blocked shot, and wasplus-1 on Tuesday. The defenseman had one blocked shot and an even plus/minus Friday night. On Saturday, Fortescue recorded three shots on goal and an even plus/minus.
Boston College is now 9-3-0 overall with a 4-2-0 conference record. In the latest US College Hockey Online Men’s Division I Poll, the Eagles dropped one spot to fourth overall. Boston College will host Dartmouth College on Friday in their next game.

Brody Lamb, Noah Laba among top Rangers prospects in NCAA
Junior forward Brody Lamb was in the starting lineup at right wing for Minnesota against Notre Dame on Friday night. He scored one goal on two shots with a plus-1 rating in the Gophers 6-3 win.
Lamb did not play during a 5-3 win against Notre Dame on Saturday. Minnesota is 12-2-1 overall with a 6-0-1 conference record. With the weekend sweep, Minnesota climbed one spot to third overall in the latest poll. The Gophers host Alaska at 3M Arena at Mariucci on Friday and Saturday.
Center Noah Laba of Colorado College recorded two assists with one shot on goal, and won 7-of-13 face-offs in a 3-2 loss to St. Cloud St. on Friday. The junior won 9-of-13 face-offs with four shots on goal and an even plus/minus in a 1-0 win in a rematch Saturday. Colorado College has a 9-2-1 overall record with a 3-2-1 conference record. The Tigers fell one spot to eighth overall in the USCHO Men’s Division I Poll. Their next game will be Friday, Dec. 6 at Schneider Arena against Providence College.
Cornell University lost at home to Quinnipiac University for the first time in six years Friday night by a score of 3-1. Senior defenseman Hank Kempf recorded one shot on goal and had blocked two shots. Kempf did not have any stats in a 5-0 win over Princeton on Saturday. Cornell is 4-2-2 overall with a 2-2-2 record in conference play. The Big Red find themselves 11th in the latest USCHO poll, and will face No. 18 Quinnipiac at Madison Square Garden on Saturday, November in The Frozen Apple.
Freshman forward Ty Henricks had one assist with one shot on goal and a plua-1 rating Friday in a 5-2 win for Western Michigan over Minnesota Duluth. The 2023 sixth-round pick by the Rangers was plus-1 in a 4-1 victory Saturday. The Broncos improved to 8-1-1 overall with a 5-0-1 conference record to climb to seventh in this week’s USCHO poll. Western Michigan plays the University of Michigan in a home-and-home series on Friday and Saturday.
The North Dakota Fighting Hawks defeated Robert Morris University 4-3 on Friday night. 2024 first-round pick EJ Emery was credited with two shots on goal and one blocked shot. The freshman defenseman had one shot on goal and a plus-1 rating while taking one minor penalty for holding during a 1-0 win Saturday. North Dakota improved to 7-6-0 overall with a 2-2-0 conference record to come in at 14th in the USCHO Poll. Next up is a home-and-home set against Bemidji State this weekend
Harvard University captain Zakary Karpa had three shots on goal and was 8-for-13 on face-offs and minus-2 in a 5-3 loss to UMass on Friday. Harvard dropped to 2-3-1 overall with the loss. The Crimson will travel to Belfast, Ireland for the Friendship Four, where they’ll play Notre Dame on Friday. Depending on results, Harvard plays either Boston University or Merrimack College on Saturday.
