New York Rangers NCAA prospects report: Brody Lamb’s 2-goal game for Minnesota
This past weekend was a bit of a mixed bag for New York Rangers prospects playing in the NCAA, as several teams moved up and down in the rankings, and only one player scored a goal.
2023 first-round pick Gabe Perreault had his eight-game point scoring streak end, when Boston College lost 5-4 to UConn on Friday. The sophomore recorded three shots on goal and was assessed a minor penalty at the end of the second period for roughing. His 13 points (five goals, eight assists) in nine games remain first on the Eagles. Teammate, and Rangers defenseman prospect, Drew Fortescue was credited with one assist, and one shot on goal in the loss.
Boston College’ s record is now 7-2-0. They dropped to third in USCHO Men’s Division I Poll and will be back in action Tuesday night at Providence College before a pair of weekend games against Northeastern.
Junior forward Brody Lamb was shifted back to right wing for the Minnesota Golden Gophers. He recorded two goals during a 5-3 win Thursday over Bemidji State. Lamb finished the mid-week game with three shots on goal and one blocked shot. His initial tally came on the power play to tie the game 1-1 in the first period.
After adding an empty-net goal to make the score 5-3, Lamb was named the first star of the game.
Lamb only had one shot on goal Saturday in a 3-1 loss. Minnesota’s record is 10-2-0. The Golden Gophers will play at South Bend, Indiana, against Notre Dame this Friday and Saturday.

Rangers center prospect Noah Laba returns from injury for Colorado College
Defenseman Hank Kempf had one shot on goal, one blocked shot and a minus-1 rating in Cornell’s 4-3 loss to Dartmouth on Friday. The senior recorded one shot on goal and one blocked shot with a minor penalty for interference and minus-1 rating in a 3-23 shootout win against Harvard. Cornell fell to eighth in the rankings with a 3-1-2 overall record. Quinnipiac comes to Ithaca, New York, on Friday night for the Toys for Tots Game. The two teams will meet again Saturday at Madison Square Garden for The Frozen Apple.
Noah Laba returned to the lineup this weekend for the Colorado College Tigers. The junior did not have any shots in a 3-2 loss to Western Michigan on Friday, and was 6-for-12 on face-offs. He had two shots on goal and one blocked shot and was 6-for-15 from the face-off dot in a 1-1 tie in the second game of the weekend. Colorado College is now 8-1-1 and moved up to sixth in the rankings.
Freshman Ty Henricks finished with a minus-1 rating during the win Friday for Western Michigan. He had two shots on goal Saturday, with a plus-1 rating. Western Michigan improved to ninth in the rankings and sit at 6-1-1 overall. They will face Minnesota Duluth on November 22nd and 23rd.
The Ranges first-round pick in 2024, EJ Emery, had one blocked shot and was minus-2 in North Dakota’s 5-2 loss Friday to Denver. The defenseman had one shot on goal in a 3-2 loss Saturday with an even +/-. North Dakota fell three spots to number 12 in the rankings and now holds an overall record of 5-6-0. North Dakota will look to rebound at home against Robert Morris University November 22nd and 23rd.
Harvard dropped out of the rankings following a 4-2 loss to Colgate and 2-2 tie versus Cornell. Captain Zakary Karpa had one shot on goal Friday and was 7-for-10 on face-offs. He had two shots Saturday. Harvard is 2-2-1 overall and will be on the road Friday, November 22nd against UMass.
The struggles continue for a young Northern Michigan Wildcats team, after losing to Minnesota State by a score of 3-0 on Friday. Freshman defenseman Rasmus Larsson recorded one shot on goal in the loss with four blocked shots and was minus-2. On Saturday, the Wildcats were able to earn a 1-1 tie to improve their record to 1-10-1 overall. Larsson recorded two shots on goal with two blocked shots and a plus-1 rating. He leads the team in blocked shots this season with 30. Northern Michigan is off until November 29th and 30th when they play Augustana.
