NHL and AHL expected to announce suspension of play later today due to Coronavirus

The NHL has a scheduled call with the Board of Governors today at 1PM. As of this writing both the Washington Capitals and NJ Devils have cancelled their morning skates. It is expected today that the NHL will announce the suspension of play similar to the NBA, with the AHL to follow suit.

As you can imagine, the AHL is also in the process of figuring out best course of action… the AHL is expected to have an update of some form later today.

The question remains how the NHL will plan on resuming the season? Cap the regular season and go right to the playoffs? A lot will be addressed soon.
