For NHL Rumors this is the busiest time of year. The busiest GM in the game right now is Buffalo Sabres Kevyn Adams. Currently he’s working on trading Taylor Hall, with two contenders reportedly intensifying in talks. Will it be the Islanders or Bruins that land him? Or is it another team no one considered before? All the answers will come by April 12th at 3 PM ET.

Sabres entertaining Jack Eichel offers

The Sabres also have a number of other players said to be in play. One player not really considered as a trade deadline candidate was Jack Eichel. He’s out of the lineup dealing with an injury. The prevailing thought was if dealt it would be in the offseason. Sportsnet’s top insider, Elliotte Friedman just dropped this tasty tidbit in his latest 31 Thoughts blog.

The person to watch is Kevyn Adams. He’s the juggler, going through multiple scenarios both big and small. There’s a big difference between “considering” and “doing,” but I think he’s considering almost everything. And I do believe he’s listening to Jack Eichel pitches. At the very least, Adams is getting the lay of the land.

There’s a number of teams said to be interested in Eichel. My current tally as of now has Boston, Calgary, New Jersey, and Chicago as landing spots. Of course, there is only one team that actually put an offer on the table for him. If they are entertaining trading Eichel now it’s safe to assume that offer is there again.

New York Rangers considered top trade destination for Jack Eichel

In a recent episode of the Lead Off, Friedman stated that the New York Rangers actually had an offer on the table. “The team with the best combination of the want and ability to do it is the Rangers, but is Buffalo going to be comfortable sending him there,” he explained. “Last year they talked – there was an offer on the table I don’t think it included the #1 pick and I’m sure Buffalo asked. There was an offer on the table I understand was pretty reasonable.”

The New York Rangers and Jack Eichel have been linked in the NHL Rumor Mill for quite awhile. That was only reinforced when one of hockey’s top insiders, Bob McKenzie confirmed they called about him this past offseason. Eric Duhatschek of The Athletic noted in a January mailbag article that, “the Rangers made a hard push on Jack Eichel last summer, but ultimately, couldn’t get anything done.”

I don’t believe any of these discussions would lead to a deadline deal. If anything we are looking at this to happen in the offseason. Still, wouldn’t it absolutely send shockwaves if Eichel was traded by next Monday? Stay tuned for more.

MSG Networks Launches Pick ‘Em App!

From MSG Networks:

The NHL contests within MSG Networks Pick ‘Em are now live for fans to enter and play. The new, free-to-play, prediction gaming app is available to download on iOS and Android and offering sports fans the chance to win real cash prizes during NHL and NBA games based on the accuracy of their selections, as well as a fun and potentially rewarding way to watch their favorite teams play.

The NHL contests within the app include separate pick ‘em contests for every Rangers, Islanders, Devils and Sabres game, with each individual contest featuring a $1,000 progressive jackpot. For each game, fans will make several different predictions, such as the player to score the first goal, the number of total goals each team will score in each period and more.

If no one correctly makes all picks on any given night, the $1,000 prize will be added to the jackpot for that team’s next game. If there is no jackpot winner, $100 will be awarded each game to the contestant or, in the case of a tie, shared amongst those contestants, with the highest point total.
