Rangers ink Alexandar Georgiev for two more years
The Rangers have signed goaltender Alexandar Georgiev for two more seasons with an AAV of $2.425 million. The 24 year-old goalkeeper is coming off a 17 win season with the Blueshirts last year and will be sharing duties with Igor Shesterkin next season.
Rangers sign Alexandar Georgiev
I recently wrote that Alexandar Georgiev would settle well before his October 31 hearing date and it has happened. This is fair contract after coming off a three year deal at $792,500 annually.
Alex did struggle late in the season in the three man rotation, but will enter as a 1B to Igor’s 1A in net. Georgiev played 34 games and notched a team leading 17 wins to go with 14 losses and 2 OT losses. His GAA was 3.04 and his SV% .914.
The Rangers now have just a little over $15 million in cap space to sign DeAngelo, Strome, and Lemieux. They can get this done.
Did the Lightning ask Stamkos to waive his no trade?
