Rangers Roundup: DeAngelo announces podcast, Quinn sets Carolina straight, and more
Rangers defenseman Tony DeAngelo has announced the launch of a new podcast, “Watch Your Tone”. According to DeAngelo who has shown great potential on the mic via Rangers social media running “Hot Takes with Tony D”, it will be about sports and general topics. No politics.
Controversy
Of course, with DeAngelo there will always be some level of controversy. At this moment there is nothing controversial about the podcast itself. Tony is outspoken politically on Twitter and social media is not known for its “tolerance and understanding” on both sides. This caused an actual reporter to contact the Rangers to ask if they are affiliated with it, which led to a direct response by DeAngelo.
Quinn indirectly responds to Brind’Amour
David Quinn’s new show which airs on Sunday at 7PM was asked about his thoughts of fairness on the NHL’s Return to Play format. His response was heartfelt and eloquent. Although it wasn’t directed at Carolina’s head coach Rod Brind’Amour, it comes off the heels of his fairness complaints. The bottom line for Quinn is that during these troubling times, complaining about fairness in sports is trivial.
The coach also talked about his excitement and that of his players to come back. You can get more exclusive quotes here, and watch the show on MSG.
JD on Playoffs
This week Rangers President John Davidson likened his team to a race horse. “If you look at a horse race, some horses get tired and fade off. Other horses they dig in and go. I think we’re one of those.” Oh baby indeed.
