State of the NHL and Key Dates
The Blackhawks are facing a lawsuit from a former player over sexual assault allegations against a former coach. They are currently conducting an internal investigation to which Mr. Bettman said he would await their findings before determining the league’s next course of action. Those actions could include punishment against the Blackhawks or certain individuals.
Another big topic was the NHL’s participation in the upcoming Olympics which he said was still a “work in progress.” Mr. Bettman also addressed the inconsistency with NHL officiating this season and called them the best in the business, and they are prone to mistakes just like players.

Greg Brown gets head coaching job in USHL
One of David Quinn’s assistants, Greg Brown was just named head coach of the Dubuque Fighting Saints in the USHL. The team is based in Iowa and cited Brown’s work with the Rangers young stars like Adam Fox and Kaapo Kakko as a reason for his hire.
“I would like to thank Brad Kwong and Kalle Larsson for the opportunity to be head coach of the Dubuque Fighting Saints. This opportunity was interesting to me because of the organization’s strong tradition, and in speaking with Kalle and Brad and members of the ownership group, it was obvious that they are running a fantastic program,” Brown said. “The Fighting Saints have big intentions. It shows in the success of the team in the past and how they run every aspect of the organization that it is going to be a great place to work.”
