Rangers Roundup: Kravtsov goal streaked stopped, NHL trade rumors, and more
Yesterday, Traktor was shutout and that puts an end to Vitali Kravtsov impressive run in the KHL to start the season. It was a tight contests but Vitali had 3 shots, tying him for the game high among skaters.
A much better run for Kravtsov this time around
Last season, Kravtsov used his European out clause to leave the Wolf Pack and head to the KHL. Things went very poorly when he returned to Traktor where he was sent then to their version of the minor leagues. This prompted Jeff Gorton to swiftly act and bring Kravtsov back.
Now, he is on the team’s top line and getting big minutes. He is a key on their power play and oozing confidence. It is showing up on the stat sheet and is very promising for the Rangers and Vitali.
Adam Huska in action
Hartford’s potential number one goalie, Adam Huska was in action yesterday also. He allowed two goals but got the win in first preseason game.
NHL Trade Rumors
The Ottawa Senators are expected to be busy this offseason. We wrote about the Rangers possibly trying to work with them ala Leafs with Hurricanes last season. The premise is just like the Leafs and Marleau, Gorton would get Lundqvist to waive his no trade to Ottawa for them to buy him out. Read more of that here.
However, win it comes to goalies, Ottawa may be looking to trade for Pittsburgh’s Matt Murray. Other trade rumor news have the Flyers feverishly trying to trade James Van Riemsdyk and his heavy $7M AAV hit.
