Rangers Roundup: Lundqvist talks future, Russia bans some NHL agents, and more

On This Season

What I went through last winter was pretty tough to be honest. I have had a certain role and a position on the team for almost 15 years and even during the years I have played in Sweden, things have changed quite a lot now. So of course I was thinking a lot, daily, almost every hour for months and it gets pretty hard mentally. Now that we’re home I’ve tried to take and just live in the present and focus on the family and gather my thoughts. Sometimes you become your own enemy over how much you think about things.

On Seeing Himself Elsewhere Next Year

That’s a really good question. I’ve always seen myself playing for the Rangers my entire career. It is quite a long time but now you are at an age where you have to take it year by year and see the situation and the conditions. Now I also have some time to think.

On This Summer

I have one year left, but again it’s a matter we can discuss together after this season.

Russian Rangers Super Agent Amongst RHF Banned List

The Russian Hockey Federation has now put out a list agents that are not accredited to work in Russia. On that list is super agent Paul Theofanous who represents Artemi Panarin and Vitali Kravtsov. The underlying reason is to keep their best players in the KHL longer.
