Rangers Roundup: Panarin gets his bonus check, Kravtsov in NY, and JD on becoming a team
Good morning Rangers Faithful! Let’s start your day with a few quick pieces of news and notes.
Last night, the NHL and NHLPA worked late into the night on Return to Play Protocols and a CBA extension. One item resolved are the players not needing to defer their bonuses. They will be paid out on schedule today.
Artemi Panarin and others receive their bonus checks
This morning, Artemi Panarin’s bank account was a little bit fuller than usual as he received his $12M bonus. Below is a list of the top 16 bonuses paid out today. I sure hope the Toronto Maple Leafs have a vault somewhere.
Vitali Kravtsov is in New York
Rangers first round draft pick, Vitali Kravtsov made quite the buzz yesterday with a Russian interview he did. In it he spoke of the ups and downs of last season and it comes across like miscommunication between him and the Rangers. A source close to the situation who read the interview stressed that things were lost in translation.
Late yesterday, Vitali Kravtsov posted a video on his Instagram showing him on a highway in New York. The kid is here and will now go through the Phase 2 protocols so he can hit the ice at the MSG Training Center.
JD on the Rangers becoming a team
Rangers President talked about how the organization got together early in the season to shore up their defensive play. From top to bottom, led by the coaching staff they bought in and started to gel.
