Rangers Roundup: Playoff roster, DeAngelo Podcast, and MSG programming update

Hey Blueshirts Faithful! We hope you are enjoying the coverage and I just want to say thank you to all of you who have supported us since the NHL suspended the season. The excitement around the hockey world is building and it is nice to see so many people reading this site again. Now let’s tackle a few quick tidbits of news.

Expanded Playoff Roster

The word surrounding the expanded rosters was confirmed to me last night by a Rangers team source. According to the Return to Play committee, and reported by Elliotte Friedman teams at this time can carry 28 skaters, and as many goalies as they want. The Rangers will carry at least 31 when play resumes (28 skaters and 3 goalies) unless the NHL changes that number.

It is early, but the projected additional skaters are anticipated to be:

  • F, Steven Fogarty (pending contract determination)
  • F, Vinni Lettieri (pending contract determination)
  • F, Boo Nieves (pending contract determination)
  • F, Tim Gettinger
  • F, Vitali Kravtsov
  • F, Matt Beleskey (pending contract determination)
  • D, Libor Hajek
  • D, Yegor Rykov
  • D, Brandon Crawley (pending contract determination)

Tony DeAngelo Podcast?

What’s the frequency, Tony? Apparently DeAngelo took to Twitter to ask people to give a name to his podcast. That caused some of his teammates like Jacob Trouba to chime in, as well as good friend, Ryan Strome.

You can vote on the Podcast name here:

Apparently “Watch Your Tone” is Strome’s choice.
