Rangers Roundup: Stanley Cup 2025? Artemi Panarin back from Russia, and more
According to a new report from Larry Brooks, New York Rangers President John Davidson has told his team to be ready. “So it is incumbent on every player in our organization to show up in the best shape possible and be ready to go and compete and make an impression on Day One,” JD told the NY Post. “That’s it. Period. There’s no way around it.”
Artemi Panarin back in NY, and JD on why no Lafreniere or Kakko at WJC
Also noted in the report is that only Artemi Panarin is the first overseas player back in New York. The expectation is that the other European players will soon follow.
When it comes to Alexis Lafreniere and Kaapo Kakko not playing at the WJC, the answer was simple. “We hope to be playing in January and we just cannot take the chance of an injury,” JD explained. “There is no more to it than that.”
This also confirms what I was told last week when the decision came down.
