Report: Rangers will not buyout Henrik Lundqvist this weekend

Hockey Insider, Darren Dreger discussed the Henrik Lundqvist situation tonight on TSN. Here’s what he had to say.

Rangers not buying out Lundqvist this weekend

“The Rangers want to treat Henrik Lundqvist with the respect he deserves,” Dreger began. There’s no trade interest at this point in Henrik Lundqvist but that could change.” Additionally he added that with money on the table Lundqvist is unlikely to retire.

“That leaves another option and the potential of buying him out,” he continued. “What I was told by sources associated with the club is that decision isn’t going to be made today or this weekend.”

According to Dreger about Lundqvist:
1. No trade interest at this time
2. Unlikely to retire
3. Per team source, #NYR won’t be buying him out this weekend.
4. Buyout a real possibility
