Tony DeAngelo reveals, “I’d like to stay in NY” in first episode of his new podcast
Rangers defenseman, Tony DeAngelo recently dropped the pilot episode of his podcast “Watch Your Tone”. Joined by his brother Lou and a few friends it was a lighthearted banter with some tidbits of good info and insights from Tony himself.
DeAngelo Wants to Stay with Rangers
When answering a fan question about getting heat from friends playing for the Rangers and being a diehard Philly sports fan, DeAngelo revealed his desire to stay on Broadway. “My family and friends have turned into Rangers fans. People always tell me to come home but I’m not coming home. I’d like to stay in NY.” DeAngelo continued by saying he’s a huge Phillies and Eagles fan, but as for the Flyers…well he had something interesting to say there. “The day the Flyers didn’t draft me in the 14 draft I was done with them. It’s all about the Rangers now.” DeAngelo is a RFA with arbitration rights whenever the offseason begins.
On the Return to Play and No Fans
When DeAngelo discussed the NHL’s Return to Play he felt they got it right. He also commented on the 29-2 vote, “I totally disagree it should’ve been 31-0.” Tony DeAngelo did provide his thoughts on how awkward it will be without fans in the stands. The last time he played without fans in attendance he was 13. Amusingly the idea of putting a mic on DeAngelo came up to which he replied, “It’d be the highest viewership of all time.” Tony joked, “Even when I am not angry I curse all the the time.”
