Rangers are looking at Tomas Kaberle, is it April Fool’s already?
ESPN’s Pierre Lebrun is reporting that the Rangers will give a look at retired defenseman Tomas Kaberle. I’m still waiting for the punchline.
Hearing that Tomas Kaberle will skate/practice with Rangers. Not signing him at this point. Will take a look at him… see where it goes

Kaberle is 36-years old and last played for the Montreal Canadiens in the lockout season (2012-3) for only 10 games before being released. The 6’1″ 214lbs defender played last season in the Czech league and represented his country at the Sochi Olympics.
How he can possibly help a Rangers team that’s been pinned in their own zone since the injuries started to mount is beyond me. He was a -14 over his last 82 games NHL (he recorded a +4 in those final 10 games in Montreal).
This is Roman Hamrlik 2.0! Hamrlik played 12 games in the 2012-13 season and was a -3. He was forced into 2 games of action in the playoffs and literally coughed up pucks left and right to Capital’s players.
Hamrlik was 38 years old and averaged under 10 minutes of ice for both regular season and playoffs. You tell me why Conor Allen can’t go those same 10 minutes? It’s ridiculous.
If this is a joke, I don’t find it funny.
