Rangers Roundup: The Czar, Trade Rumors, and Pack News

The New York Rangers are back at it today when they hit the MSG Training Center at 2PM. In preparation the team called up Igor Shesterkin yesterday and he is likely to get at least one of these next 2 games against the Red Wings this weekend.

3 Goalie Monster

Yes, the Rangers are sticking with the 3 goalie system as expected. Now the team will have to manage getting Georgiev starts over the next 13 games to keep his value up. A league source told me that Toronto’s interest has dropped as they are focused on getting a defenseman. On the flip side, the Sharks are hot for a goalie and feel Georgiev is a starter for them. That leaves between 6-8 games for the King and the Czar. Ultimately and regardless what happens at the deadline Quinn needs make Shesterkin #1.

NHLN: Kreider Likely Traded

In the video clip below the team on NHL Network talk that Kreider is likely to be traded because of where the Rangers are as an organization and how the offer will be to good to turn down. Kevin Weekes highlights the Blues as a destination.

Other News and Pack Notes

Max Domi is an interesting name rumored to be on the move from Montreal. The 24 year old C/W has 34 points in 51 games. He is a restricted free agent at the end of the season. You wonder if the Rangers and Canadiens at least discuss a potential deal.

There’s rumors that the new franchise in Seattle has decided on the team name Kraken. However they took to social media to refute it…kind of.

The Wolf Pack remain hot, in case you missed it here is yesterday’s massive update.
