NHL Rumors and News: 2021 Salary Cap, Boychuk update, and more

The NHL believes next year’s salary cap could be between $84 and $88 million which is much higher than the originally projected $83M. Cap pressed team’s will now have even more flexibility this summer which could make for an interesting draft and free agency season.

On another note, there is a travel ban for NHL employees due to the Coronavirus scare.

Bettman just announced there is a travel ban outside North America, but anyone who travels personally to countries considered at risk must stay away from NHL team offices for two weeks upon their return.

Boychuk Ok

Last night the Islanders Johnny Boychuck took a skate to the face. Early news coming out is that he did get stitches on his eyelid but no damage to his eye was done. Lucky! Full Face Shields and Neck Guards should be a rule going forward.
