Hold your breath, because you are waking up to these headlines if you missed last night’s late start in Vancouver.

The Rangers have a magic number of 3 points to clinch a playoff spot, but may have to do it for the remainder of the regular season without Ryan McDonagh.

With under a minute to play, Alex Burrows rode McDonagh hard into the boards and Mac Truck came out of the collision with a dent. The Rangers #1 defenseman and possibly 2nd MVP only to Lundqvist, exited with his left arm in a sling.

A spokesperson for the Rangers said “it was not serious”. However, I will breathe better after an MRI which will be scheduled shortly. McDonagh got banged around all game. In the first period, he was hit into the boards by Daniel Sedin and taken down. The result of the play was McDonagh’s head bouncing off the ice. Thank God for helmets. He dodged that bullet, but couldn’t avoid the last one.

The injury was a black spot on what otherwise was a great night for the Rangers as Marty St. Louis finally got the “King Kong” sized ape off his back. Of course he does it with the odds against him shorthanded, but this could serve as his turning point as a Ranger.

Stay tuned Ranger fans…more info coming.
