Official: Alexandar Georgiev starts, Tony DeAngelo scratched, as Rangers go with same lineup

The Rangers have concluded practice and according to head coach David Quinn, there will be no changes to the lineup.

Tony DeAngelo scratched for another game

The Rangers leading scoring defenseman from last year was back to skating with the regulars today but as an extra. As we noted earlier that likely meant another scratch and now it is official.

Quinn wanted to make it clear that this scratch has nothing to do with discipline and just a byproduct of the last game.

While that may be the case, the Rangers did sign DeAngelo a new two-year deal worth $4.8 million per season. He also represents the best chance for the Rangers anemic power play to get going. They have one PP goal on 11 chances so far.

Alexandar Georgiev was sharp last game

Alexandar Georgiev earned the right to start against the NJ Devils tomorrow, He stopped all 23 shots he faced en route to his first shutout of year. Not only was it his first win but that of the Rangers on the season.

The 24 year-old Islanders killer is 6-2 lifetime in eight career appearances against the Midtown Tunnel rivals sporting a 1.80 GAA, a .941 SV%, with two shutouts.
