Official: David Quinn returns Tony DeAngelo to lineup; scratches Brendan Smith

David Quinn has just made it official and reinserts Tony DeAngelo back into the lineup. Coming out is Brendan Smith who played two very strong games and is just a by-product of numbers.

Tony DeAngelo returns to the lineup

DeAngelo last played on opening night against the Islanders where he logged over 15 minutes of ice but took an undisciplined unsportsmanlike penalty. This drew the ire of head coach David Quinn and led to a two game ban.

Bottom line, DeAngelo was the team’s top scoring defenseman last year and finished 4th overall in the category league wide. He needs to be a leader and stay on the ice to help drive offense if the team wants to be successful this season.
