Pregame Notes: Shesterkin/Lemieux In For Lundqvist/Fogarty and Updates For Possible Game Four

Lineup Changes For Game Three

With his team down 2-0 in their play-in series against Carolina, head coach David Quinn has decided to replace veteran goalie Henrik Lundqvist with rookie Igor Shesterkin.

Shesterkin burst onto the NHL scene this season with the Blueshirts and was a late scratch before Game 1 of the series.

In addition to Shesterkin, forward Brendan Lemieux will be replacing Steven Fogarty in Quinn’s lineup for this pivotal game. Lemieux, who was serving a two game suspension for a questionable hit against Colorado forward Joonas Donskoi, should give the Rangers’ forward group an extra jolt of energy and physicality against Carolina.

Forward Jesper Fast remains out for the Blueshirts, after being on the receiving end of a hit from former teammate Brady Skjei.

Possible Game Four Start Time

If the Rangers are able to extend the series with a win tonight, Game 4 will be at noon on Thursday, according to a statement released by the NHL.
