Rangers buyout…no one? Confusion on buyout window.

The New York Rangers have announced the buyout of no one, because the buyout window wasn’t open.

Apologies folks. The buyout window opens three BUSINESS days after the last arbitration case is settled. So, since Buchnevich's case was settled Friday night, that means Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday – and the window opens tomorrow.

Here’s why:

Have just learned that because Buchnevich contract was not filed until Saturday, NYR buyout window does not open until 12:01 AM…Sorry for previous confusion.

Buchnevich contract filed after 7 PM on Friday. Clock did not start until next business day, which was Monday. So 48-hour window opens tonight.

1. If no buyouts, then Kreider and someone else gone
2. If Smith buyout, then maybe Kreider gone, definite trade though
