Rangers face Avalanche and my NYR picks for daily fantasy leagues
The Rangers are in Colorado to face the abysmal Avalanche. So much for Patrick Roy‘s coach of the year award as his Avs have been floundering since. New York should still get two points, but the possibility of not having Rick Nash in there at least gives Colorado a shot.
Who am I kidding? This is a Blueshirt cakewalk.
What’s Up with Nash?
According to the big man himself…back tightness. In his place…Emerson Etem, should a butt load of massage therapy not work on Nash today.
[su_quote cite=”NY POST” url=”http://nypost.com/2015/11/05/uh-oh-moment-for-rangers-rick-nash-throws-out-his-back/”]“I twisted it and it kind of locked up on me after I took a shot,” Nash said. “I felt really good the first three drills, then I just threw it out.”[/su_quote]
Dan Boyle Back In, but not for long
So what happens when you’re a 40 year old defenseman? You are given days off whether you like it or not. Boyle isn’t happy about the game-plan to rest him more, but as AV stated, “it’s about the big picture.” Going forward he will likely be rested on back to backs and 3 in 4 nighters.
In addition, the Rangers are kind of handcuffed with young Dylan McIlrath, whom they will lose on waivers if they send him down for more playing time. Dylan needs to play, even if sporadically and this is the best the Rangers can do, unless the right trade offer comes along.
And In Goal….
My FanDuel NYR Picks (This info is for entertainment purposes only)
I’ll be spending my cap space tonight on Henrik Lundqvist because he’s a lock for a win. Plus the Rangers like to give up shots and he’ll get you points there.
If I had to pick one Ranger to have a big offensive night, I like Mats Zuccarello. His cap hit is also modest, which compensates for big money I will use on Hank.
Oscar Lindberg! If I feel I’m spending to much cap space on high end talent, this is my goto Ranger with a low cap hit that I feel will get me positive points.
