Opportunity is knocking for the NY Rangers to take advantage of one of those four games in hand on the Islanders. Tonight in enemy territory the Blueshirts take on a strong Caps team with a chance to jump into first in the Metro Division.

The Rangers have posted a 1-0-0 record (1-0-0 at home, 0-0-0 on the road) against the Capitals, following a 4-2 win on Dec. 23 at Madison Square Garden. Rick Nash tallied his first hat trick as a Ranger in the contest, while Derick Brassard recorded three assists and Mats Zuccarello notched two assists. Following tonight’s game, the Rangers and Capitals face off again on the following dates: Mar. 29 (at MSG), Apr. 11 (at Washington).
