After losing a franchise record 11 games in a row, the Maple Leafs broke through against the even lower Edmonton Oilers in their last game. The Leafs are hoping to win two in a row and the Rangers are just looking for a W.

GAME 52: NEW YORK RANGERS at TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS, Air Canada Centre, Toronto, Ontario 7:30PM

The Blueshirts have struggled a bit offensively with just 7 goals in three games in life after Lundqvist. Talbot is 1-1-1 in those three games and could be 3-0 with a little more offensive support.

In comes the generous defense of the Maple Leafs that gave up 33 goals in those 11 losses (3 goals per game average). Toronto currently ranks 6th in the league with a 3.02 goal per game average for the season. The Rangers rank 7th offensively with an average of 2.94 goals per game.

Tonight, the Rangers quest for offense may be answered.

Editor’s Note: Thank you all for the kind words over the last few days. When perfect strangers show that kind of humanity during another’s time of loss, it restores one’s faith that the world is a better place than the news media outlets sometimes describe.
