The New York Rangers went a perfect 4-0-0 on their recent road trip. They also got some great news today when both Ryan Strome and Kaapo Kakko hit the ice for practice. There were plenty of smiles and laughs as the team welcomed them both back on the ice.

Now the question remains; will they play tomorrow against the Flames?

Strome and Kakko back at practice

“We’ll know more tomorrow with the protocols, they’re day-to-day,” Gerard Gallant said. “I can’t say they’ll play tomorrow for sure yet or not. Hopefully there’s a chance for both of them but I’m not sure.”

One thing is for certain, when Strome and Kakko return they’ll be reunited with Artemi Panarin.

“Yeah, I definitely like (Strome) back with (Panarin and Kakko),” the coach said. “I think (Panarin) feels real comfortable playing with Stromer. We’ll see what happens tomorrow once the medical guys tell me they’re cleared (to play).”

Kakko, 20, was injured late in the first period at Montreal. The team was still able to rattle off four straight road wins without him and Strome. That’s 1/3 of your top six not in the lineup. Pretty impressive.

Strome, 28, has one assist in the two games he’s played this season and will certainly help Panarin when he returns.
