I guess you chose to this omit bit of info Dreger put out this morning……

“I don’t see the NYR chasing the big names (Tavares, Panarin, Kovalchuk, Karlsson). Looking for younger assets and plan on staying course.”

None have the Rangers anywhere near being favorites. Plus with his rumored 7 mil + contract demand and 3 yr term the Rangers would be idiots signing him. Let the LA’s, Boston’s, Vegas’ and San Jose’s of the hockey world waste their money on him.

Every time I turn around I see another update about Kovalchuk and they’re almost always sounding as if the Rangers are still close to signing him. Yet I’ve never heard anyone on NHL radio or anywhere else say the Rangers are in the mix. As a matter of fact they all say the same thing as us that it makes no sense for either side. I’m so excited about this draft and every time I see another Kovalchuk story it ruins the whole feeling of optimism. I’m so tired of the Karlsson stories too. Let the rebuild begin already and Gorton you better not blow this. Please no more off the board picks for nice players. I’m hoping now that they’re talking rebuild he won’t be doing that. He probably went for the nice player Andersson cause he was supposed to be NHL ready and we weren’t in rebuild mode last year. We’re gonna find out what he’s gonna do in about 24 hours. Hold onto your seats

We need young elite scorers. Wahlstrom and Zadina are my targets. It’s a disappointing day if there on the board and they draft someone other than those 2, I’m going to lose my mind. Farabee would be a close 3rd pick.

You ain’t kidding. If Zadina and Wahlstrom are still there at 9 and we pick another off the board guy I’ll be convinced we’ll never win a cup with Gorton. I don’t think either will be there only cause I feel like it would take luck for that to happen and I do t think the Rangers are a lucky team. The way I’m hearing names go from 3 to possible 9 I feel like we shouldn’t trade up unless it’s for the 2 spot and I doubt that’s happening either. We should be able to get a good player at 9 but I don’t know about a star player.

Steve you are won’t be the only one losing his mind if those two are on the board and the Rangers take someone from left field again. I think they can make some major noise by drafting McLeod with one of their later 1st rounders too. They need to start collecting offensive prospects.
