Rangers Roundup: Chris Drury out of Panthers GM job, other former NYR in, Anthony Cirelli trade, and more news

Assistant GM, Chris Drury has withdrawn from consideration for the Florida GM job. This coming off the heels that former Panthers GM, Dale Tallon is being investigated for “racially-charged” comments regarding Matt Dumba’s speech. Tallon has denied the allegation.

Chris Drury out, other former New York Rangers still in it

Larry Brooks of the NY Post reported yesterday that Drury withdrew from further consideration after his initial interview. Two former Rangers, Eddie Olczyk and Kevin Weekes are still in the hunt for the job along with former, Bruins and Oilers GM, Peter Chiarelli.

Another name in the mix is former Florida Panther, Scott Mellanby. An NHL source I spoke with said that they believe it will come down to Chiarelli and Weekes for the job.
