Rangers Roundup: Jack Johnson on waivers, Phil Di Giuseppe on COVID list, and Vitali Kravtsov in NY

The Rangers have placed defenseman Jack Johnson on waivers for the purpose of placing him on the taxi squad. The 34 year-old was signed this offseason to a one year-deal at $1.15 million.

He can be claimed by noon tomorrow.

Phil Di Giuseppe lands on COVID list

Rangers forward Phil Di Giuseppe has landed on the NHL’s COVID-19 protocol list. The 27 year-old winger has 7 points in 23 games this season.

Vitali Kravtsov lands in NY

Forever Blueshirts has learned that Vitali Kravtsov landed late this afternoon and will begin his 10 day quarantine before hitting the ice with the Rangers.

The 9th overall selection in 2018 has a strong season in the KHL where his work ethic and defense was praised. He finished the season with 16 goals and 24 points in 49 games. In the playoffs he kept up his strong play with two goals and four points in Traktor’s 5 game elimination. He finishes his KHL career with 18 points in 31 playoff games. The Rangers hope he brings his post season play to Broadway.
