Rangers Roundup: No 2020 lockout and first round of cuts are in

The NHLPA has decided not to terminate the CBA meaning no lockout in 2020 and hockey at least till 2023.

Rangers Camp News and Notes

The Rangers hit the ice again today with scrimmages. Here are some highlights and an update on roster cuts.

I asked David Quinn who jumped out in the scrimmage today. He mentioned Adam Fox, Kaapo Kakko, Filip Chytil and Boo Nieves. We also talked about the progress of Libor Hajek and Joey Keane.

Per the NY Rangers website:

Francois Brassard, Ryan Gropp, Tom McCollum, Ville Meskanen, and Ty Ronning have all been assigned to Training Camp with the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL). In addition, Nico Gross was assigned to his junior team, the Oshawa Generals of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), and Hunter Skinner was assigned to his junior team, the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).

There are really no surprises here. This year’s lineup was basically predestined to include Kakko, Kravtsov, Andersson, Chytil, Fox, and Hajek. As long as DeAngelo situation remains unresolved expect Joey Keane to get a long look.
