Rangers Roundup: Training camp begins, no opt outs expected, and official roster announcement

“Go time.”

That’s what the Rangers posted on social media at the stroke of midnight. Training camp will begin at the MSG Training Center at 11AM today.

NHL deadline to opt out is 5 PM Eastern

I reported on Saturday that no Rangers currently in NY is expected to notify the team they will be opting out of playing.

In a recent report by TSN’s Frank Seravalli, he indicated multiple players are considering opting out. This prompted me to reach out to a team source and ask if they expected any New York Rangers players to do so. Unless something changes from last night, no Blueshirt currently in NY is expected to opt out.

Official Training Camp Roster

The Rangers have yet to announce their training camp roster. It should be released some time this morning. Here is a list of known players in NY.

It is expected that Steven Fogarty, and Tim Gettinger will also be announced today. Other potential adds could be Danny O’Regan.

On another note, per Vince Mercogliano, Boo Nieves may not be here for camp. That is interesting, as Nieves will be a RFA at the conclusion of this season.
