Rd1 Gm3: Rangers must be the Road Warriors to regain momentum (NYR v PIT 7PM)
The Rangers have been one of the best road teams in the NHL. They are 53-25-4 over the last two seasons and tonight in Pittsburgh they’ll need to go all “Mad Max” to regain the lead in this series.
There is no way the Rangers can kid themselves over these last two games. Alain Vigneault said yesterday that he was pleased with 5 of the 6 periods they played. The only one he wasn’t happy with was the 2nd period of game 2.
I’m more critical of their performances and feel that they’ve played 3.5 good periods thus far. Both 1st periods of each game, the third period of game 1 and the first 10 minutes of the third period in game two. Otherwise, both second periods have been atrocious as the Rangers have been outscored 4-0 in the middle frame.
Time to step up and stand out Blueshirts.
