Reports: Rangers Place Beleskey On Waivers
According to Larry Brooks of the NY Post, and other NHL insiders, the Rangers have placed Matt Beleskey on waivers. If he clears, the 30-year-old forward would be assigned to Hartford.

Beleskey was acquired by the Rangers in the trade that sent Rick Nash to the Boston Bruins in February. Beleskey made his Rangers debut in the final game of last season against Philadelphia, and was expected to compete for a spot on this year’s roster before suffering a separated shoulder toward the end of training camp. Assuming Beleskey clears waivers, he would be assigned to Hartford where he can begin getting back into form. One additional caveat here is that with Beleskey being assigned to Hartford, they will get a little bit of cap relief, as CapFriendly notes.
Matt Beleskey's cap hit with the #Rangers this season is $1.9M. Bruins retained 50% of his salary in the trade that brought him to NY last season.
If Beleskey clears, and is assigned to the minors, he'll continue to count against the Rangers cap at a reduced cap hit of $875K. https://t.co/mpIkOUgL8G
