Six Rangers now on TSN Trade Bait List
The latest TSN Trade Bait List is out and 6 Rangers are in the top 50. Let’s look and see who they are and where they slot in.
Chris Kreider at 1
No change here as Chris Kreider remains at the top of the list with contract talks going nowhere. Bob McKenzie noted the Rangers ask is a 1st, prospect, NHL player or prospect, and a conditional pick.
Jesper Fast at 9
Less than a day after I noted Jesper Fast interest was picking up, Fast not only makes his debut in the top 50, he’s vaulted to #9. Fast is a great bottom 6 add that fortifies a team’s PK. Rangers want at least a 2nd rounder.
Buchnevich 28 and DeAngelo 29
Two names that have dropped dramatically are Pavel Buchnevich and Tony DeAngelo. Only way they are traded is in a blockbuster deal and that is usually unlikely. I believe there names are only here because the Rangers will have to address cap issues next season.
Brady Skjei at 41
Skjei is another name that would only be moved in a big hockey trade. The Rangers are overloaded on defense and have big prospects on the verge of making the team in Nils Lundkvist and K’Andre Miller.
Lias Andersson at 49
Andersson rounds out the list at 49. McKenzie said Jeff Gorton is still taking calls but it is more likely he is dealt at the draft.
