Speculation mounts on the next Rangers President

The hockey world is buzzing at Glen Sather’s announcement that he will be stepping down as the New York Rangers President. Here is a quick glance at all the potential names being mentioned as his replacement.

As mentioned on HockeyCentral, the list of possible replacements for Glen Sather with the NYR will include Mark Messier, Steve Yzerman and John Davidson.

Dave Maloney

Summing it up

It should be noted that Brooks did not mention Mark Messier in his list, but in truth the job is unlikely to go to someone with no experience. That rules out Leetch and Maloney as well.

The Rangers will ask Yzerman but he is going to work with Detroit which leaves these two names as legitimate successors in my estimation. John Davidson and Dean Lombardi.

Ultimately, the job belongs to JD if he wants it.
