New York Rangers place Tony DeAngelo on waivers

The Rangers placing a 25 year-old defenseman on waivers is stunning. Last year’s fourth leading scorer among defenseman may very well be claimed and thus freeing cap space for the Rangers to trade for Vince Dunn.

New York would also like to make future room for a young defenseman who is also a right-handed shot. Nils Lundkvist would be their preference, if they can get Lulea and team Sweden to let him go.
