VG Sport out of Norway is reporting once again on the contract situation of Mats Zuccarello. Right now, Zucc is enjoying the sun of the Caribbean during the All-Star break with the thoughts of negotiations in the back of his mind. However, he wasn’t overly pleased when trade speculation came up after the Ottawa game.

Per Google Translation:

“You in the media speculate about it (in Norway) and I’ve seen you (do it). I read somewhere that I can be traded,” he said with some irritation in his voice after the Ottawa game.

“I (don’t want to) think much of it. I dont want to go anywere, and I dont think much about it. If im traded, then im traded, and if I stay, I stay. There is not much I can do about it.*.

So that’s the latest we have so far on Zuccarello’s situation. Maybe his agent came to NY Tuesday to discuss what Zucc was looking for in a contract before he headed out onto vacation.

Per Bjurman however believes that the Rangers WILL NOT TRADE Mats Zuccarello away.

Personally I do not think a trade is applicable. He is with Rick Nash and Derick Brassard Rangers’ premier offensive weapons and the club stated goal is of course to reach the Stanley Cup – and win – already this year.

Maybe his representatives are talking with the Rangers right now. Or Maybe they’re not.

For what it’s worth, that’s way too many maybes for me.

SNYRangers has some more on this story as well.
